There are four main bodies of water in the Lake District where you can enjoy a relaxing boat cruise: in the South Lakes near the Howbeck Hotel there’s Windermere and Coniston Water, while in the North Lakes there’s Derwentwater and Ullswater.

Just a mile from the lake shore, the town of Windermere together with its lakeside neighbour, Bowness-on-Windermere, have provided a major tourist destination since Victorian times.
