The Howbeck is renowned for its good food, lovingly prepared to order from fresh and wherever possible local ingredients.
Gleaming white china is used for breakfast and the food presentation is to a very high standard.
The Famous Breakfast
The day starts with a piping hot hearty Cumbrian platter breakfast of Cumberland sausage (meat or vegetarian), bacon, oven saut potatoes, roast tomato, braised mushrooms and eggs to your liking.
The extensive cold table offers all the usual fruit juice, cereals, fresh toast & preserves together with a good selection of continental meats, cheeses etc.
Fresh home made bread is a daily feature of the table. The aroma of fresh ground coffee, served in cafetieres, fills the air and tea is served in individual white china teapots. There is always a platter of fresh fruit adorning the sideboard for those wishing a healthier option.
Evening Dinner
Please note that while we no longer have a restaurant on site we are just a few minutes walk from many great restaurants, bistros and bars, we are very happy to recommend various places to eat in Windermere, Bowness & the surrounding area, if you do not wish to walk we can also arrange transport, we do have some special relationships with some great restaurants who offer our guests special terms on dining.
