Dinner Menu (£27.95 per head)

Our aim is for food that is the best it can be with an emphasis on fresh and local produce.

Everything is prepared & cooked to order. 

If you would like to dine with us, please place your order before you leave for the day or 24 hrs in advance for your day of arrival.

Portion sizes are generous – please ask if you would like them to be smaller. All starters can be served as main courses if required.

A Taster.....
A selection of small tasty morsels while you wait or this may be soup on colder days!

Appetizers

Morecambe Bay shrimps
Served simply with fresh lemon & toast.

Mixed fish platter
A medley of seafood such as smoked salmon, prawns etc. served with tangy lemon relish.

Feta Cafe salad (V)
Feta chunks on a mixed leaf salad with a garlic herb oil dressing and black olives.

Egg & bacon bowl
Masses of crispy bacon and boiled egg served over a mixed leaf salad with a light Caesar dressing & parmesan shavings.

Pate
A coarse well flavored pork liver pate & toast.

Baked Figs
Wrapped in Black Forest ham & oven baked - served hot on a dressed bed of couscous.

Melon 'Carpaccio' with Parma Ham
Honeydew melon with a wine & orange dressing, pink peppercorns & slices of Parma ham (Smoked cheese may replace ham) (V) or not!

Balls of breaded haggis
(Not exactly local but we are near enough to the border to offer this one!)
Spicy haggis, egg & bread crumbed, oven roasted & served with a fresh salsa & Cumberland sauce. (V) version also available!

Mains

Slow roasted minted lamb
A generous portion of Cumbrian lamb, long slow roasted to melt in the mouth.

Chicken wrapped in bacon
Succulent pieces of pesto stuffed chicken wrapped in thick back bacon & braised in a cream & mushroom sauce.

Pan fried fillet of salmon
Salmon fillet pan fried with capers and finished with cream. Or plain cooked with lemon.

Steak in Red Wine
Lean steak cooked in good red wine, garlic, onions and mushrooms and finished with cream

Mushroom stroganoff (V)
Masses of mushrooms freshly cooked with a thyme & cream sauce & served on fragrant Thai Rice.

Caramelised onion & feta tart (V)
Red & white caramelised onion on a flaky pastry base with feta cheese and toasted pine nuts.

Double Haddock & Herb Fish Cakes
Made with fresh & smoked haddock and baked in the oven. Served with a light herb dressing.

To Finish

Toffee sponge pudding
A rich moist toffee sponge in a pond of toffee sauce - a pud to save room for!

Berry cream
A light mixture of red berries, crushed Amoretti biscuits, fruit liqueur & cream.

Fresh fruit platter
Simple unadulterated plate of prepared fresh fruit.

Calvados baked apple
A new twist on a favourite, served bathed in cream.

Bread & butter pudding
Freshly made with home baked bread & cream.

Cheese selection
A generous plate dressed with celery & grapes & served with red onion marmalade & oatcakes.

Coffee & Chocolates
Cafetiere of fresh ground coffee or pot of tea £2.25.
