Windermere Science Festival at the Windermere Jetty Museum 10th – 11th May

The Windermere Science Festival returns on May 10–11, 2025, at the Windermere Jetty Museum, offering a weekend packed with hands-on science, inspiring talks, and family-friendly fun.

This year’s festival features an exciting lineup, including BBC’s Sky at Night presenter Chris Lintott, who will delve into the search for alien life, and Dr. Glyn Morgan from the Science Museum, exploring the science behind Star Wars. Families can enjoy interactive experiences like the Jedi Lightsaber School, rocket-building workshops, and the popular Big Float—a cardboard boat race on Lake Windermere. Additional activities include canoe safaris, VR experiences, and creative workshops blending science with art.

The festival runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day, and entry is included with museum admission. Annual pass holders and Lakeland Arts members can attend for free. For more details and to plan your visit, check out the official website: windermeresciencefestival.org.
